Of resolutions by blunted pens,
Using the ink of united powers,
Every verb written in past tense.

The one of only three places to be,
Is now standing on a corroded stool,
Trembling pillars on their very knees,
Slowly entering history books in school.

Flightless pigeons in barbed cages,
With broken wings and grey feathers,
Rusted steel surrounding for ages,
An untold tale of the silent wailers.

Lying on the bed staring at the ceiling,
Lying on the floor staring at the stars,
Wish to share this comforting feeling,
Wish to tell the tales and the scars.

Ibnuazlan wrote this poem specially for Palestine. It talks about the Palestinians, the UN, Al-Aqsa Masjid, the Israelis who are involved in oppression, and us.

<![CDATA[Surrounded by Aliens]]>Sat, 23 Jan 2010 05:36:11 -0800http://www.keepingithalal.com/70/post/2010/01/first-post.htmlThis poem was written by Muhammad Aiman Azlan, a first year University of Toronto Mississauga student, born and raised in Malaysia. An international student who operates under the pen name "Ibnuazlan", this mysterious poet is pursuing a potential degree in Biology or Biotechnology.

Surrounded by aliens I'm all alone,
My sight can't rest on the same spot,
I only wish somebody was home,
To be my shade in this town so hot.
It's not a cloth but jewelery,
Maybe cheap but priceless in value,
Brightly lit your true beauty,
Protecting others, not only you.

Among all others you stand out,
It's easy to see a light in the dark,
I can hear clearly your silent shout,
"I'm a Muslim, in actions and heart"

Driving on this long winding road,
It looks straight when you take the wheel,
I know that I can take this load,
Because your hijab is my precious shield.
