So goes the tagline on posters on campus advocating for the right to education.
Great sentiments there but statistically speaking education is a luxury.
From 100people.org if the world was a village of 100 people, only 1 would have a post-secondary degree.
One. Out of one hundred. That’s approximately 1% of the entire population on earth.
What does that mean to you? A poverty stricken university student living on mac and cheese and eating out of cans?
Assuming that you, who are reading this, will successfully pass all your exams and classes to finally receive that expensive piece of paper called a degree; you will eventually be a part of the elite of the world.
The top 1%. The 1% that has the credentials, the power, and the influence to shape society as we know it.
For the better or for the worse. Think about it!
